Originally from Lebanon, now living in Montreal, Lamia Yared is a wonderful young interpreter of Ottoman era music. As a singer and oud player, she
performs classical secular Arabic songs, the Muwashahat. Her musical journey also embraces influences of Sephardic songs and Greek traditional music of Asia Minor. Her group of accomplished players, L’ensemble Zaman, consists of Didem Başar (qanun), Nazih Borish (oud), and Nathaniel Huard (percussion).
