Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows discover hidden treasures.

Combine your tour  with a trip to the pumpkin patch in the fall to give your whole family a new appreciation of where food comes from.

This trip allows families to explore small-scale farming operations within a day’s drive of urban Vancouver.

Attractions

  1. Circle Farm Tour (Agassiz and Harrison Mills)-  See cows roaming the fields, watch artisan cheese and hand crafted pottery in the making. Take a self-guided tour of a 1920’s living history historic site, explore  a garden and shop for antiques, home & garden décor. Smell fresh coffee being roasted and taste homemade dishes with locally sourced products, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, corn, cheese, raspberries, blueberries, and fresh veggies.
    (Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows)- Beautify your garden and shop for locally grown produce at the farmers’ market. Bring the whole family along and learn about the world of bees, get lost in a corn maze, and take a horseback ride along a mountain trail. Go wine tasting and then shop for organic berries, hormone-free beef, old-fashioned ham, bacon, and sausages. Sample our local food and chefs at a great restaurant.
  2. Sasquatch Museum at the Harrison Visitor Centre (Harrison Hot Springs)– Come enjoy the newly opened Sasquatch Museum! Enjoy videos, artifacts, and print media; you may even catch a glimpse of our local Sasquatch Hot Springs Harry!
  3. Pumpkin Patch (Maple Ridge)– in the Fall go pumpkin patch hunting! Visit one of the pumpkin patches in Maple Ridge including: Laity Pumpkin Patch; you can visit either the North or South Location.
  4. Coquitlam Farmers Market (Coquitlam)-Launched in 1996, the Poirier Street Farmers Market is the longest running suburban farmers market in the Lower Mainland.  The Poirier Street Market hosts a diversity of vendors and products from May through October. Each week a wide variety of vendors gather to showcase their products – made, baked, grown, or raised in BC.

Additional stops: On Saturday Mornings from mid- May to Mid- October stop in at the Mission City Farmers Market between Agassiz and Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows.
Friday afternoons stop in at the Deroche Farmers Market located between Agassiz/Harrison Mills and Mission. This farmers market runs on Fridays from June to September. Follow them on Facebook

Itinerary

One Day:

Start in Agassiz, BC, making your way towards Harrison Hot Springs. Stop into the Harrison Hot Springs Visitor Centre for some useful information on the area and meet Hot Springs Harry; our local Sasquatch. Next, make your way to Harrison Mills, BC:, 15 mins. continuing to stop at each Circle Farm tour hosts. After you have experienced,  or tasted, your way from Agassiz through to Harrison Mills, follow the scenic Highway 7 to Maple Ridge: 50 minutes. Once here, you can go Pumpkin patch hunting (Fall only) or follow the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Circle Farm Tour! It will be bittersweet as you head onto the last stop, carry on the Highway 7 until you’ve reached Coquitlam, and visit the Coquitlam Farmer’s Market!
