National Indigenous Peoples Day Along Scenic Route 7
June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day. Today is a day to recognize and honour the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples throughout Canada. Scenic Route 7 is on the unceded, traditional, ancestral, and shared Indigenous territories of Kwikwetlem, Tsleil-Waututh, Qayqayt, Katzie, Kwantlen, Scowlitz, Matheqwí, Semá:th, Leq’á:mel, Sts’ailes, Seabird Island, Sq’ewá:lxw, Cheam, Xa’xtsa, Samahquam, Skatin, Chawathil, Cheam, Seabird Island, Shxw’ow’hamel, Xwoxwela:lhp, Peters, Popkum, Skawahlook, Spuzzum, Boston Bar, Boothroyd, and Similkameen Peoples.
